One of the biggest issues that has existed prior to this update is the fact that Service Package names in ResponsiBid would transfer to Service Monster without matching to an existing Service Package name in ServiceMonster.  This has now been remedied with Line Item Customization.   To utilize this new feature please do the following:

  • Go ResponsiBid and go to Settings then Services
  • Pick a Service that you would like to create custom line items for
  • In step 1 scroll to the bottom of the page and notice the option to Disable Customize Package Names.  This should be checked by Default.  If you want to turn this feature off, just click the check box and it will turn off.
  • To proceed in creating custom Line Items, leave the check mark in place and look towards the bottom of the screen
  • You will see an section for creating Custom Line Items
  • The first thing you will look for is the column entitled Package 1.  You will notice that this package name matches the name of the service as seen just above in the Serivce Package setup area.
  • To create a custom name for this ResponsiBId Service when transferring to ServiceMonster, under the column labeled Custom Title, go ahead and click the drop down option
  • In that drop down list, you will see all your Service Monster Service names.  Please select the name you was the ResponsiBid package to to transfer as, when moving over to ServiceMonster
  • If you don’t see the Name you are looking for in the Drop down.  Please go into your ServiceMonster account and create the Service name you wish to exist in Service Monster for this purpose. Then go back into your ResponsiBid account and complete the Line Item Customization process as explained above.
  • You will also notice a Custom Description option in this section.  This allows you to create a custom description that will also transfer to ServiceMonster.  This Custom Description will be most useful to technicians in the field who are looking at the customer profile in Service Monster as they are preparing for and/or performing the assigned job.

With the implementation of this new feature, we anticipate a significant improvement in how ResponsiBid and Service Monster communicate to create a more customizable connected relationship in allowing you to more efficiently perform your duties.
